Overthinking your actions can be hazardous to your professional growth. There are various habits formed through overthinking but I want to narrow in on one in particular: Self-Editing.
You have the floor. It’s your turn to speak, you’re prepared but after you see the faces in the room or on video, your throat tightens (it’s not acid reflux), you become the armed guard to your own thoughts and words. This disrupts your natural conversational rhythm and it disconnects you from the audience and eventually yourself. Watch the video below for tips.
