A Powerful Self Control Tip
There are 355 days left in this year. Already things are off to a stumbling start. Before we go deeper, before we fall short, before we cave let’s get still and make a decision.
There are nearly 3,000 subscribers to my newsletter (subscribe here ) it’s a very diverse group. Our challenges and concerns may not align but our goal of seeing the best in others and ourselves are likely the same. We all want to live and lead exceptional lives right?
With that, you can’t be caught off guard with mayhem. You’ve come too far. When times get complicated, you go within, remembering who you are. We rely on the tools we collected along the way. We gain strength through our values, beliefs, faith and hope.
You can’t control the external chatter but you most certainly can master the internal. Get started now, watch my video.
Decide Who You Want to Be
Once you make that decision, examine how you can use your strengths to help others turn the corner. Do something remarkable for others. For a deep dive look into this courageous action, watch Marianne Williamson’s Forgiveness and Releasing 2021 video.
One Way To Remember to Go Within For A Self Check!
Once you’ve gathered the information and you decide how you will conquer the unknown, and move forward with a keener sense of self awareness, one question remains: How do I remember to be that person, how do I remember to exhibit the behavioral change?
You have to create a habit. Habits require reminders and monitoring. Do this one simple thing right now. Grab your cell phone, set 7-10 alarms for each day of the week, Monday-Friday (you can title each alarm based on your needs). When these alarms chime, go within for a self check. Ask yourself:
Does my behavior reflect my desire to live differently/stronger/better?
Am I in alignment with my goal?
Have I given into fear, feeling helpless and insignificant? If so, I am now choosing to return to my perspective of making an impact and honoring my values.
This isn’t easy work but it’s simple work. If you can do this each and every time you fall back to your regular behavior, it will get easier. I promise. Not only will it get easier, you’ll get better and stronger. Follow through.
